Hi! My name is Abby and I’m in 8th grade. I have lived in eight different places and move every two years. I was born in Charlottesville, Virginia before moving to Kansas about a year later when my brother was born. He is in 6th grade.

I have lived in Germany twice and it is probably my favorite place we have lived. I like it the best out of all the places I have lived because it was a foreign country that was new and exciting. The least favorite place I have ever lived is probably Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri because of its location. It was in the middle of nowhere and the only large store in a 1 hour radius was a Walmart.

I love to travel and while I lived in Germany I got to see over 18 countries. I don’t travel as often as I did in Germany because there aren’t as many places to see. They also do not have an equivalent of a Ryanair airline; Ryanair is just a European airline. My favorite country I have visited is probably England or Greece. I liked England because of its diverse people and its ancient architecture. I liked Greece too for its ancient architecture but also for the heavenly food and nice people.

My favorite subject in school is Science. It is an interesting class and I always enjoy our labs. I also like the teacher, Mrs. Jacobs because she explains everything well and is really nice. However, when I grow up I do not really want to work in a science field. I would like to work at the Library of Congress because I love books and I think archiving would be a lot of fun.

My favorite sport is tennis and I have been playing for about a year and a half now. It is a lot of fun and a little challenging which is why I like it. I plan on trying out for the high school team next year. I am a little nervous about it but will practice as much as possible so I will hopefully make the team.

In this class, I hope I will learn how to be a faster typist and how to better write articles. I think that being a journalist would also be a fun career and this class would be a good course to take to prepare for that. I think I will enjoy this class too because I will get to cover events that are happening in the school and I will get to interview student and teachers.
